The Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Economic Development of the Maldives

On 29th January 2014, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Economic Development of the Maldives Honourable Mr. Mohamed Saeed. Among those who participated in the meeting also include the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Economic Development Mr. Yusuf Riza, and the Registrar of Companies, Ms. Mariyam Visam.

The Ambassador expressed that the China-Maldives relationship has been developing rapidly in recently years, and that the bilateral cooperation in economic and trade spheres have also been strengthened continuously. China's Conference on the Diplomatic Work with Neighbouring Countries, held late last year, had clearly pointed out that China would enable neighbouring countries to benefit more from China's development. China and Maldives have always been good neighbours and good partners. China will continue to contribute for the economic and social development of the Maldives in every possible way, and is willing to cooperate with the Maldives, deepening the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Saeed expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Wang for the visit and said that the Maldives is willing to widen cooperation and exchanges with China in economic and trade areas. He also said that the Maldives welcome more Chinese companies to invest in the country, and to participate in the development of infrastructure and tourism in the Maldives.
