The Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang and the Foreign Minister of Maldives signs the Agreement on Agricultural Research Project Cooperation

On 10th April 2014, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang and the Foreign Minister of Maldives, H.E. Ms Dunya Maumoon, representing the Embassy of China and the government of Maldives, signed the Agreement on Agricultural Research Project Cooperation, and addressed at the ceremony respectivly. The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large Mr. Abdullah Hameed, the State Minister at the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture, Ms. Zaha Waheed, Deputy Minister Mr. Mohamed Shareef and the Deputy Chief of Mission at Chinese Embassy, Mr. Liu Qiang, the Head of Commercial Department Mr. Guan Zhiyong, and other members of Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Wang briefed the successes and achievements of bilateral cooperation between China and the Maldives in recent years, and stated that China would continue to expand exchanges and cooperation with the Maldives in various fields, and that China is willing to make joint efforts with the Maldives on a mutually beneficial basis to promote friendly relations to a higher level and bring benefits to both peoples. Ambassador also wished that the Agricultural Research Project would achieve a success.

Minister Dunya highly appreciated the Chinese assistance in the socio-economic development of the Maldives, and noted that Maldives and China are good friends, and that the Maldives would further strengthen cooperation with China, promoting Maldives-China relations, enabling it to develop forward continuously.
