China and Maldives enjoy friendly relations and decades of amicable exchanges between the peoples. Since China and Maldives established diplomatic ties in 1972, our two countries have enjoyed mutual understanding, respect and support, and forged enduring friendship, setting an example of equality and peaceful coexistence between countries of different sizes.

In September 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a historic state visit to Maldives and the two heads of state agreed to establish future-oriented all-round friendly and cooperative partnership. In July 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping had a phone call with Maldivian President Ibrahim Solih, setting the direction regarding future development of the bilateral relations, especially in making joint efforts to fight against Covid-19, advance the steady growth, and promote stable development of China-Maldives relations.

The year of 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has secured a decisive victory in the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and has embarked on a journey to fully build a modern socialist country. On the journey ahead, we will remain committed to promoting peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, to an independent foreign policy of peace, and to the path of peaceful development, work to build a new type of international relations and a human community with a shared future, promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative through joint efforts, and take advantage of China's new achievements in development to provide the world with new opportunities.

As Ambassador of China to Maldives, I, together with my colleagues, will present you a true, multi-dimensional and comprehensive China. Guided by the strategic consensus the two heads of state have reached, we are willing to communicate and collaborate with the government and people from all walks of life of Maldives to carry forward our friendship and promote cooperation, making China and Maldives good neighbors sharing a natural bond of affinity, good partners engaging in mutually beneficial cooperation, good friends featuring equality and mutual trust, and good brothers with a shared future. I believe we'll open a new chapter of friendship and cooperation in China-Maldives relations.

I sincerely hope this website could function as a window for better understanding of China and China-Maldives relations, a platform to serve Chinese enterprises and institutions and Chinese citizens in Maldives and a bridge to promote friendship between the two countries.
