On 26th January 2015, the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives H.E. Mr. Wang Fukang attended the ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Maldives Autism Association. The ceremony was also attended by Former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan, Chairperson of Maldives Autism Association Madam Ilham Hussain, Minister of Tourism Mr. Ahmed Adheeb, and Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee.
Ambassador Wang in his speech expressed that Chinese government has paid close attention to people with special needs, vigorously developing society to ensure job opportunities. At the same time, China has not forgotten to share its development and achieve common prosperity with Maldives. Therefore China is once again making donations this year to Maldives Autism Association to enable more autistic children from Maldives to enjoy better service of the association, thereby making China-Maldives relations benefitting the two peoples.
Madam Ilham in her speech highlighted the generous assitance given by Chinese government and people in the past to Maldivian social and economic development, and thanked particularly the support from Ambassador Wang and Chinese Embassy to social welfare cause of Maldives. She expressed her confidence that such assistance from China will greatly enhance the work of Maldives Autism Association and benefit more children and families in Maldives.
