On Sept 28, 2022 the inauguration ceremony of the Chinese Language Center of Villa College was held. H.E. Ambassador Wang Lixin and H.E. Foreign Secretary Ahmed Latheef attended the ceremony and made warm remarks.

H.E. Ambassador Wang Lixin highlighted that the Chinese Language Center could help the Maldivian people learn the Chinese language and understand Chinese culture. As a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and Maldives, it will become a "Chinese Bridge" linking the Chinese and Maldivian people and further promote the profound people-to-people friendship.

H.E. Foreign Secretary Ahmed Latheef extended gratitude to efforts from both sides and congratulated the launching of CLC, stressing that learning Chinese is becoming important for Maldivian people to better understand China, know Chinese culture and get better job opportunities.

Guests from CLC co-founders also participated the ceremony and delivered speeches, hoping the center will train more and more Chinese language talents and contribute to the cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Maldives.

To show their interest and love of Chinese, students from several local schools performed Chinese songs and poems. Hope CLC will help more and more Maldivian people love Chinese language and Chinese culture！
